Tomorrow marks the first day of the 2024-25 school year at Penn, so I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome our two new PhD students to the Winey group.
Will Presson is a first-year materials science and engineering student from Greensboro, North Carolina. As a physics major at Emory University, he worked with Connie Roth on light-induced film thickness expansion in azo-labeled polymer films. Will is joining the Port5 project in the Winey group.
Sam Chen is a first-year chemical engineering student from Nantong, China. At Notre Dame, Sam worked with Jennifer Schaefer on polymer electrolytes for lithium-ion batteries. He is joining the PolyUp project in our group.
We’re excited to have Will and Sam at Penn and in the Winey group!
